Meat kabab/ Shami kabab

Meat kabab

As you know kabab is originated in middle east later it adapted in almost all country with slight changes. Here I prepared meat kabab with shallow fry. Meat kabab can prepare with any minced meat. It can use as evening snack and as an appetizer. Normally I prefer it to cook in iftar parties.


Beef                                                               : 250g
Chana dal                                                      : ½ cup
Garam masala/ kabab masala                     : 1tsp
Pepper powder                                             : ½ tsp
Ginger                                                           : 1 small piece
Garlic                                                            : 4 cloves
Chopped onion/ shallot                               : 1/2 cup
Dried red chilli                                            : 2
Coriander leaf                                             : 1tbsp
Egg                                                                : 2
Salt to taste
Oil for fry

  1. Cook minced beef and chana dal with suffient water (1 cup). Add ½ tsp of garam masala, ½ tsp of pepper powder and salt in to it. Cook about 30-40 minute
  2. Mix onion, ginger, garlic, 1/2 tsp of garam masala, dried red chilli and salt in cooked beef mixture 
  3. Mince this either through food processor or meat mincer
  4. In a bowl add eggs and mix with spoon. Keep aside
  5. Heat oil in pan (oil for shallow fry)
  6. Take one hand full of meat mixture , press under palm and make round shape
  7. Dip this in egg and put in oil for shallow fry.  Fry one side for few minute then flip over other side  and fry till become golden brown
