Fish rice/ Malabar meen choru



Today I am posting very easy rice recipe that is our own Malabar fish rice we call it as Meen choru. This is very easy recipe so I didn't put step wise picture. Here only we have to mix all ingredient in pressure cooker (one by one) and just cook that's it. But taste wise no compromise its very tasty one. 


Ingredients
2 cup biriyani rice (I used kaima rice)
500 g King fish/ fleshy fish (I used king fish)
3 clove
1 inch cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf
2 onions (sliced)
2 tomatoes (sliced)
5 green chillies (chipped)
2 tsp chopped ginger garlic
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp chilli powder
2 tsp of coriander powder
1 tsp of pepper powder
1 tsp of garam masala
Salt to taste
1 handful coriander leaves
2 3/4 cup water
3-4 tbsp oil

Preparation
1)    Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pressure cooker then add cloves, cinnamon and bay leaf
2)   Once nice smell comes add sliced onion saute well then add ginger garlic, green chilli and tomato one by one
3)  Saute well till tomato mashes nicely. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, garam masala and salt
4)   Stir well then add cleaned pieces of fish and coriander leaves. Add 1 cup water and cook for 10 minute
5)   Add remaining water and oil (If you are using basmati rice add 1/4 cup water more)
6)   Once it started to boil add washed rice
7)   Add salt and mix well
8)   Close the lid and cook in medium flame (flame should not be very low or very high. It should be in medium). Once first whistle comes keep 1 minute at high flame then switch off
9)   Open after 20 minute or once pressure comes down
10) Mix slowly and serve hot
