Prawn rice/ Chemmeen choru/ Konju choru / Konjan choru

Today I am sharing Prawn rice/ chemmeen choru. Chemmeen and Konju is the common malayanam name of prawn but we calicut-thalassery people calling it as Konjan :) Its a simple recipe with great taste. 

Ingredients
2 onions (chopped)
1 tbsp chopped ginger and garlic
1 ½ tbsp chopped green chili
2 tomatoes
¾ tbsp crushed pepper corn
1 ½ tbsp coriander powder
½ - ¾ tsp turmeric powder
4cloves, 3 cardamom and small cinnamon stick
500g prawn (before cleaning)
Curry leaves and coriander leaves
2 cup basmati rice
3 ¼ boiled water
Salt to taste
4 tbsp oil

Preparation
Heat oil in a pressure cooker and fry onion then add ginger, garlic and green chili. Followed by this add tomatoes and saute well. Add all spices and salt, stir well. Once nice smell spreads add prawn, mix well. Cook for 3 minute, add boiled water after that washed and drained rice. Close the lid cook at low flame. Once first whistle comes switch off the flame. Open the lid after 15 minute. Mix slowly and serve hot.
