Koonthal roast/ Squid roast/ kanava roast

500g squid (before cleaning)
2 onions
3-4 garlic cloves
4 green chili
1 tomato
½ tsp turmeric powder
¾ tsp garam masala
1 ¼ tsp chili powder
1 ½ -2 tsp coriander powder
Salt to taste
1 ½ tbsp coconut slices
Curry leaves
2 tbsp oil

Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan and fry sliced onion till it turn transparent or slight golden color. Add chopped garlic and green chili one by one and saute well. Once nice smell spread add sliced tomato and saute well till tomato cook well. Add all spices, salt and saute for 3-4 minute. Add squid pieces and stir for 3 minute then add some water, mix well and close lid. Keep in medium low flame for 6-10 minute or till the squid cook well. In a pan heat oil and fry coconut slices. Once it becomes golden brown color add curry leaves. Finally add this fried coconut and curry leaf in above cooked squid mixture. Serve hot with rotis or rice.
