Prawn cutlet (chemmeen cutlet) -with stepwise pictures


Today I shared some of the recipes that I prepared for iftar. On Ramadan time, I was in vacation so didn't get time to post, now you can expect some yummy recipes that will come one by one :)

Ingredients
5-6 big prawn (cleaned)
1 big onion, thinly sliced
¾  tsp ginger paste
¾  tsp garlic paste
1 tsp green chili paste
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp chili powder
¼ tsp garam masala powder
Salt to taste
1-2 boiled potato (2 potato, if small, or 1 big potato)
½ cup bread crumbs or 2 bread slices
¼ cup all purpose flour
Bread crumbs
Oil for shallow fry

Preparation
1)    Mince the prawn and keep aside
2)   Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan and add onion
3)   Saute well with little bit of salt
4)   Once it turned slightly golden, add all paste (ginger, garlic and green chili)
5)   Add minced prawn and saute well
6)   Add turmeric powder, chili powder, garam masala powder and salt
7)   After 3 minutes, add mashed potato. Mix well and turn off the flame
8)   Add ½ cups of bread crumbs or 2 pieces soaked bread with it and make a shape (I made oval shape, you can make or square shape) and keep aside
9)   In a bowl, mix all purpose flour, salt and enough water to make a loose batter
10) Dip the each cutlet in batter, then coat with bread crumbs.
11)  Shallow fry in hot oil till both side turn golden brown color
12) Drain excess oil and keep in tissue paper

13) Serve hot with tomato ketchup
